HOME SCHOOLING

Small group home schooling is available for children 6-14 years of age. Teaching is developmentally appropriate and geared to each child’s individual needs.

Unique aspects of this program include:

• Mixed age grouping
• Student paced progress
• Project oriented curriculum
• Developmental theory-based programming
• Performance assessment
• Teachers as mentors
• Peer tutoring


The school day will follow the Iowa City School District calendar (within reason).

Curriculum areas include:

• Reading, Writing, Arithmetic
• Poetry
• Advanced Math (if needed)
• History, Geography, Cultural Studies
• Science
• Research Training
• Art
• Foreign Language

SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

The summer enrichment program is a tutorial and fun program that incorporates individualized learning with time spent out of doors. It will take place on weekday mornings with flexible scheduling possible.
There will be a focus on creativity and project oriented learning.

AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING

After-school tutoring will be available for a limited number of children. The emphasis will be on skill development. Each child's needs will be professionally assessed and an individual curriculum designed.

Time is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
